What kind of game it is
Deadlock is Valve's 6v6 hero shooter that mixes MOBA and FPS. Two teams push down lanes on one map, fight over creeps and towers, and aim with a third-person camera. Each of the 25+ heroes has a gun and a set of abilities: Haze, Vindicta, Abrams, Lash, Pocket and others. A match runs around half an hour and can turn on one lost fight at a tower, when the souls you saved for the shop disappear with you.
How VAC and Valve's own anticheat work
Deadlock is checked by VAC and by Valve's own anticheat. VAC bans are tied to the Steam account, they are permanent, and they often arrive in waves days or weeks after the cheat was detected, not during the match. An internal cheat lives on the same PC as the game, so after a big update it is the first thing the checks can notice. This is why every card shows an update date and a status mark, and why a patch is a reason to wait rather than launch.
Four scenes from the lanes
Haze in mid. Two enemies stand in front of you and a third hides behind the tower. ESP shows where he is before he steps out, and smoothed aim keeps the crosshair steady instead of snapping.
Vindicta from a ledge. You sit high above the bridge and a hero walks across it. The visibility check stops the aim from locking onto someone still behind a wall.
Abrams in close range. You are first into the fight and need to know how many are around the corner. The radar shows everyone heading your way from the next lane, so you fall back to your team in time.
Lash in a teamfight. Dashes and jumps throw your aim off. Prediction in BYSTER leads a running hero, and no recoil keeps the weapon level through a burst.
How to pick a build
If you want light aim and distance to the target, MASON has the shortest feature list and a simple config. BYSTER is the full set: bones, visibility, prediction, boxes, skeletons, loot, radar and no recoil. CLUTCH DMA comes close on features but has no recoil control and no prediction, and in exchange it runs from a separate machine. Playing solo in a random lobby usually calls for the richer set, because you get less information from teammates. Unsure? Rent for 1 day and see how it behaves on your Windows version.
How Deadlock differs from Dota 2 and Overwatch
Compared with Dota 2, the camera sits behind the hero instead of above the map, and shots land where you aim rather than where you click. Compared with Overwatch, there are creeps, towers and a shop, so a team can win on economy without winning a single gunfight. That makes ESP on loot and souls worth as much as aim: you see where the enemy and the reward are, and keep your reactions for the fight itself. A cheat here works as a second look at the map, not a replacement for playing.
