Why milsim players reach for cheats on a 20 km map
Arma 3 from Bohemia Interactive has been a PC military simulator on Steam since 2013, and nothing else in the genre matches its scale. Altis alone is about 20 by 20 km, and modded servers hold 100 players or more. A contact at 500 meters is a few pixels in the grass, and your rifle has to be aimed with drop in mind. Aim assistance matters at that distance. ESP matters just as much, because people lie in brush, behind olive trees and inside buildings where the eye finds nothing. Cheats here turn long, quiet stretches into decisions you can actually make.
BattlEye, modded servers and the spoofer builds
Official servers run BattlEye at kernel level. Modded servers are a mixed picture: the admin decides whether to keep BattlEye, drop it or add their own tools such as BEC or infiSTAR. So the same build can face very different checks depending on where you connect. MASON and SMG ship with a built-in spoofer, which helps when you want to return to the same PC after a hardware ban. PROMET ARMA 3 DMA has no spoofer, but it runs from a second computer. All three builds are rated excellent and currently working.
Four places that show what a cheat does
Altis, Agios Dionysios. A hill town with an open approach from the south. ESP with distance shows who sits behind the walls, and bone aim holds up on a 400 meter shot across the fields.
Stratis, the airbase. Hangars, tents and a long runway with no cover. Loot ESP on SMG and PROMET shows what lies in the buildings before you cross open ground.
Tanoa, Georgetown. Tight streets, palm trees and fast fights at short range. Box and skeleton ESP separate friend from foe through foliage, and visibility-only aim ignores anyone behind a wall.
Malden. A smaller island where fights start sooner. The same settings work here, and you save time on the walk between points.
How to choose a build
On Exile servers you want the full aim set, so take SMG or PROMET with bone aim, smoothing and visibility checks. On King of the Hill, where control of one spot decides the round, the DMA build keeps everything on a second PC. If you stream, SMG is the one with stream-proof mode and a saved config. On a modded server without BattlEye, any of the three will do, so pick the one whose features you will actually use. Each product page lists its features and system requirements.
How Arma 3 differs from its neighbors
DayZ grew out of an Arma 2 mod and is about survival among zombies. Arma 3 has no zombies, only a military simulator with ballistics, vehicles and command roles. Squad has tighter maps and a fixed squad structure, while Arma 3 gives you the largest open terrain of the three. Rust is built around bases and raiding, but here the objective is a mission, an operation or a hill. The pace is slower, and one clear piece of information often decides a whole firefight.
